ECO FRIENDLY VOLUNTEERS
Eco friendly Volunteers (ECO-V) is a non-profitable voluntary organization established on 7th February 2001. We are engaged in environmental conservation in Sri Lanka based on Buddhist Philosophy. ECO-V has a network of over 1000 volunteers throughout Sri Lanka who contribute to research and community work to support conservation of the environment. Our programs are for children, youth and adults. We are always looking for local and international volunteers
ECO-V’s Goal is to make the world a better place for all organisms to live in harmony
We run youth Leadership training (Green Leaders) campaigns under Climate Change and Sustainability.
This program was initiated in 2012 by Kanchana, who got inspired after reading “Last Child in the woods” by Richard Louv.
We have been maintaining two Natural Gardens called Eco Garden and Metta Garden close to our office at Boralesgamuwa.
BIO DIVERSITY CONSERVATION
ECO-V has been promoting bio diversity conservation among local communities by empowering them with knowledge and skills to protect their own environment.
CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY
ECO-V has been successful in guiding individuals and communities to be conscious on taking action in their day today lives to have low carbon and ecological foot print to combat climate change.
Many people are infested by consumerism. Therefore, many resources are unsustainable and just wasted. To address this issues ECO-V has designed a program called conscious consumerism.
SPIRITUALITY AND NATURE
ECO- V practice and promote Inter-connectedness among individuals using eco-centric approach to lead a more holistic and spiritual Life style based on Buddhist philosophy mainly. We are open to initiate programs with other religions and spiritual groups.
PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
ECO-V is promoting ecofriendly products as alternatives for existing Nature unfriendly products which are unhealthy for humans and all living beings. This mission is not 100% successful yet but we are trying our best.
